HISTORY AND TRADITION

In 1861, rich druses of tabular gray wulfenite crystals up to 1 cm in size were found in cavities of the Upper Černojam ore vein at the Lill mine in Příbram. Samples from this find soon made their way into major museums around the world, and since then Příbram has been cited in the literature as one of the world’s significant localities for wulfenite, despite the fact that only a limited number of attractive specimens of this mineral have been found in Příbram.
