MAGICAL PROPERTIES

The Chinese believe that the mineral anhydrite has magical properties similar to well-known gemstones such as selenite, jasper, and jade.

  • Anhydrite, like selenite, carries the power of the full moon, protects against the bad influence of the dark moon, attracts media love, sympathy and friendship, alleviates irritation and fatigue, suppresses anger in its owner and more. Like jade, anhydrite grants decency in acceptance, honesty, bravery, courage, and justice. Like jasper, anhydrite helps its wearer uncover the mysteries of life, protects against an evil fate, supports a sense of honor and duty, and helps build relationships with seniors.
  • This mineral may be a universal helper for humans, but astrologers do not recommend wearing it with ornaments, because all those amazing magical properties of anhydrite, of which it has many, may not suit its master too well, and its owner will become absent-minded, careless, and childish.

HISTORY AND TRADITION

In 1804, it was identified by Werner, and its name comes from the Greek “anhydros,” meaning without water, unlike gypsum, which contains it.

The word “anhydrite” comes from the Greek hydor (“water”) and a prefix expressing negation. Under the influence of water, it transforms into gypsum, anhydrite. This mineral itself is nothing more than the anhydrous form of potassium sulfate. Its color may be bluish, white, or grayish, and sometimes it is even reddish.
Anhydrite deposits are primarily found in salt deposit areas in the region of p. Werra, in the southern Harz near Shtasfert in Hesse in the Hanover region and other parts of Germany, as well as on the Taimyr Peninsula and in the Urals in Russia.
