The scarab, in Czech "vruboun posvátný," was one of the most revered symbols in ancient Egypt. The Egyptians associated it with the god Khepri, the god of the rising sun and transformation. WHY THE SCARAB WAS SO SACRED
The Egyptians observed how the scarab rolled a ball before it, and saw in it an image of the sun traveling across the sky.
That is why they associated him with the morning sun, birth, and a new day. The sacred beetle was identified with Khepri, one of the forms of the sun god.The phonetic similarity of the Egyptian name for the beetle to the verb “to come into being” or “to become” further strengthened its significance as a symbol of transformation and birth.SCARAB AS A PROTECTIVE AMULET
