A two-coloured speciality that hides a red ruby overgrown in a deep green Zoisite matrix. Ruby Zoisite is mined in two deposits in Tanzania (Longido and Lossogonoi), but these are now largely exhausted, so the price of quality raw material is constantly rising.

In terms of composition, ruby is a precious variety of Corundum - aluminium oxide. Zoisite is a Silicate of Calcium and aluminium, close to epidote.
